Onsite Wastewater Feasibility Assessments for Proposed Subdivisions

EXCELLENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM

Part of the subdivision approval process requires confirmation that the site and soil conditions on the proposed lots are suitable for onsite sewage treatment.

SVH Contracting can provide professional feasibility assessments for proposed subdivisions which approving agencies can review and consider for approval.

Sewage treatment feasibility is based on many factors including the soil conditions, terrain, horizontal and vertical setback requirements, and the nature of the proposed development. The Interior Health Authority provides a guideline that outlines requirements for sewage treatment and disposal for proposed subdivisions.

These proposed septic fields also have to comply with the Subdivision Regulations, and the Sewerage System Regulation.

The feasibility assessment consists of the analysis soil test pits and permeability tests on each proposed lot, and a survey of the proposed field locations, proposed wells, and potential building sites. This data is then summarized in a report and map and includes recommendations for field sizes and locations for consideration by the approving agencies.
